1974 was the first World Cup if ever remember watching properly - and thus was spawned a love affair with the greatest sporting competition in the world. Dodgy hairstyles, awful weather conditions, disappointing Brazilians and Cruyff at his best - even if there were only a staggeringly meagre sixteen teams in the finals.
Many thanks to my top mate Eugene Gallagher for allowing me to scan his prized sticker album - and for another good friend Nigel Mercer for providing scans of three elusive/missing stickers, to complete the set. Unusually, the set was produced before the playoff game between Spain and Yugoslavia was held, and so both teams feature in the album - although Spain fell at the final hurdle.
