In the early 1970s, Cadbury's repackaged their smallest-size chocolate bars (the thin, 'non-chunk' bars aimed at smaller children) to sport colourful wrappers featuring various cartoon monsters from mythology. The theme was of a humorous nature (rather than a 'scary' one) and was successful enough to produce two series of wrappers. The front of the wrapper showed the relevant monster concerned, while the back sported flavour text describing the monster's fictional background.
I was captivated by these as a small child. A recent ebay acquisition means I can now show the wrappers to series 1. Sadly, I still have no examples of series 2. If anyone visiting this site has examples of the series 2 wrappers, I would be very interested in obtaining some scans to enhance this section of the site. Click on the images below to see the series 1 wrappers and adverts for both series.
