In the mid-to-late 1960s successful U.K. games manufacturer WADDINGTON teamed up with Letraset (who at the time were only beginning to branch out into transfer set production) to produce a number of large sets under the brand banner WADDINGTON PANORAMAS. These sets are extremely hard to come by these days. Several of the early sets feature monochrome or two-tone transfers - but they soon evolved to feature full-colour transfer sheets.
WADDINGTON produced at least three ranges of sets - their main range concerned 'adventure' themed sets, sporting huge backgrounds with literally dozens of very small transfers - which truly created a panoramic adventure of limitless possibility. The second range featured characters licensed from T.V.'s popular Gerry Anderson series' Captain Scarlet, Thunderbirds and Joe 90. The third range featured characters licensed from the world of Walt Disney cartoons.
